Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)

Dry Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or sea salt)

Chocolate Chips

  • 3 cups chocolate chips (mix it up with semisweet and dark!) Feel free to add extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt for topping.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and eggs until smooth.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until everything is just combined. Don't overdo it!
  • Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to chill.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Use a cookie scoop to form large balls of dough.

Baking

  • Pop the cookies in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
  • Let them cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough to enhance flavor and thickness. Experiment with adding nuts or peanut butter for variations. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
