Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt or sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Chocolate Chips

  • 3 cups chocolate chips mix of semisweet and dark

Optional Toppings

  • Extra chocolate chips for topping
  • Flaky sea salt for bakery-style finish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and eggs until smooth.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Use a cookie scoop to form large balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill your dough to enhance flavor and thickness. Don't skip the toppings for added flavor!
