  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Simmer until the liquid reduces by half.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Preheat another skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place two slices of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  • Layer on cheddar, then the beef mixture, followed by mozzarella. Top with remaining bread slices, butter side up.
  • Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and the cheese melts.
  • Slice and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For an extra crunch, serve alongside a fresh side salad or crispy sweet potato fries. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in a skillet or oven for the perfect finish.
