  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup Can be substituted with cream of chicken soup.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Feel free to mix different cheeses for flavor.
  • 1 bag (32 oz) tater tots Frozen tater tots are recommended for convenience.
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped Use yellow or white onion for the best flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning according to personal preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Top with the cheddar cheese, then arrange the tater tots on top of the cheese.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
