  • 1 lb ground beef can be substituted with chicken or turkey
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup can substitute with cream of chicken or plant-based soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese can swap for pepper jack cheese for heat
  • 1 bag tater tots make sure they are evenly spaced on top
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • to taste Salt and pepper season beef before browning for more flavor

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a greased baking dish, spread the beef mixture evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
  • Top with tater tots in a single layer.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
