Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces apples (cored and peeled) Use ripe apples for sweetness
  • 2 large eggs Can use flax egg or applesauce for a vegan version
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder Optional but recommended
  • 2 to 3 tbsp maple syrup Adjust to taste for sweetness
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp salt
  • Chocolate chips (optional) For added fudginess

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 7x7 inch (15 cm x 15 cm) brownie pan with parchment paper.
  • Cut the apples into chunks and toss them into a blender along with the eggs, cocoa powder, and baking powder if using.
  • Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and has no lumps. Add maple syrup to taste, if desired.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 27 minutes or until they’re no longer raw inside.
  • Let cool completely at room temperature before slicing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 5 to 7 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving for a freshly baked warmth.
