  • 12 oz Spaghetti Any pasta shape can be used.
  • 1 lb Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative.
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For sautéing.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 28 oz Canned tomatoes Diced or crushed.
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste For added thickness and flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning Or mix of oregano and basil.
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper To taste.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Grated, for topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned.

Cooking

  • Stir in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer the sauce for about 15-20 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve the meat sauce over the spaghetti and top with grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

Enjoy with a side salad or warm, crusty bread. For a twist, add red wine to the sauce, or make it vegan with lentils or mushrooms.
