Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For rolling

  • as needed Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add in the flour, chopped nuts, and salt, mixing until well combined.
  • Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool slightly, then roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
  • Let them cool completely and roll in powdered sugar again before serving.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it feels too soft. Experiment with different nuts for a fun twist. For chocolate snowballs, add cocoa powder to the dough.
