  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain) Choose high-quality steak for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch Helps tenderize the meat.
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic Toasted for enhanced flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger Adds a spicy warmth.
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce Can be adjusted for lower sodium.
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar Provides sweetness; can be adjusted based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup water Helps create sauce consistency.
  • 1/2 cup green onions (for garnish) Adds color and freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Toss the flank steak with cornstarch in a mixing bowl until evenly coated.
  • Place the coated steak in a slow cooker and add sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir gently to combine.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or LOW for 4-5 hours until the beef is tender.
  • Stir in green onions just before serving.

Notes

Serve over steamed rice or with broccoli. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat gently with a splash of water.
