  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 cups bread cubes (optional) Stale bread works great!
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables (optional) Get creative with your favorite veggies!

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the Oven: Set it to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the Sausage: In a skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat and drain excess fat.
  • Whisk the Eggs: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk with salt and pepper.
  • Layer It Up: Grease a baking dish, layer cooked sausage, bread cubes, and veggies, then pour the egg mixture over and sprinkle with cheese.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow it to cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or toaster oven. This dish can be prepped ahead of time and frozen for 2-3 months.
