Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 24 pieces Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
  • 1 box (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk Use full-fat milk for a richer pudding layer.
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • extra pieces Oreo cookies for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pour the pudding mixture evenly over the Oreos.
  • Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix over the pudding layer.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until the top is set and slightly crisp.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Top with whipped topping, mini chocolate chips, and extra Oreos if desired.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Got leftovers? This cake will hold up for about 3–5 days in the fridge, covered tightly. You can freeze it for up to a month—just thaw it before digging in. For make-ahead magic, prep it the night before and let it chill in the fridge overnight.
