Ingredients
  

Chicken and Batter

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • Oil for frying Oil for frying Use enough oil for deep frying.

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

Garnish

  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Slowly add water to form a delightful batter.
  • Dip the chicken wings into the batter, letting the excess drip off.

Cooking

  • Heat the oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the chicken wings in batches until golden and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
  • In a separate pan, combine soy sauce, honey, gochujang, garlic, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened.
  • Toss the fried wings in the sauce until they are well coated.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

For extra crunch, double fry the wings. To make it spicy, add more gochujang or chili flakes. This recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings.
