Sandwich Base

  • 4 pieces Italian bread or hoagie rolls

Fresh Vegetables

  • 1 cup Lettuce
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 medium Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Olives, sliced

Meats & Cheese

  • 4 oz Salami, sliced
  • 4 oz Ham, sliced
  • 4 oz Provolone cheese, sliced

Seasoning and Dressing

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Red wine vinegar
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Slice the Italian bread or hoagie rolls in half lengthwise.
  • Layer the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncini, olives, salami, ham, and provolone cheese inside the bread.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar, then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Close the sandwich and press down gently.
  • Slice and serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

For best flavor, let the sandwich sit for a few minutes before slicing to allow the ingredients to mingle. Toasting the bread adds extra crunch, and feel free to experiment with different meats and cheeses.
