Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf 1 loaf of bread, cubed
  • 1 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup butter Can be substituted with olive oil for a vegan option
  • 2 cups 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon thyme
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery; sauté until soft.
  • In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, broth, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For extra crunch, add toasted nuts before serving. Can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge. Leftovers keep well in an airtight container for 3-5 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
