Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water About 110°F for yeast activation
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Freshly grated for better melting
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated for better flavor
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast, then let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, and salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick and cut it into strips.
  • Place the strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Don't rush the rising process—it helps the breadsticks turn out fluffy and perfect. Serve with marinara for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen.
