Brownie Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Fold in for indulgence

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter slowly.
  • Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart-shaped brownies.

Serving

  • Serve plain, sprinkle with powdered sugar, or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Notes

Store brownies in the fridge for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. When freezing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap then place in a freezer-safe bag. Reheat in the microwave when ready to enjoy.
