  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced

Seasoning and Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Enhances the flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, drizzle olive oil and heat over medium-high.
  • Add sliced onions and green bell peppers. Sauté for about 3–5 minutes until tender. If using, add mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Push vegetables to the side and add ground beef to the pan. Break apart and cook until no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes.
  • Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, cover skillet, and allow the cheese to melt for about 2–3 minutes.
  • While cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  • Once cheese has melted, spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each roll.
  • Optionally, toast the rolls for added texture before serving.

Notes

These cheesesteaks are best served hot. Consider pairing them with French fries or a side salad.
