  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Use quality cocoa for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 stick unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 teaspoons coffee extract Or use 1 tablespoon of instant coffee
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Frosting Ingredients

  • 2-4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream To adjust frosting consistency
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules Dissolved in cream
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter Softened

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and transfer it to a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, stirring until fully blended.
  • Gradually mix in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until the batter is smooth.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the brownies cool completely.

Frosting

  • Dissolve the instant coffee granules in the heavy whipping cream and set aside.
  • Beat the unsalted butter until fluffy, then gradually mix in the powdered sugar.
  • Pour in 2 tablespoons of the coffee-infused cream and mix until combined, adjusting the consistency with more cream if needed.
  • Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter; just mix until dry ingredients disappear. Use quality cocoa for a noticeable difference.
