  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed) Use fully ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar Can substitute half with honey for a healthier option.
  • 1 large egg (beaten) For a vegan version, substitute with flaxseed meal mixed with water.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with a gluten-free flour blend.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  • Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well!
  • Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently.
  • Add the flour and stir just until it disappears—do not overmix!
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Store leftovers at room temperature for 3–4 days or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, slice and freeze, reheating in the microwave as needed.
