Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Main Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced Use sweet or tart apples like Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Granny Smith.
  • Oil spray for air frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional) Serve warm with a sprinkle for extra sweetness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spray the air fryer basket with oil. Use a tablespoon to drop spoonfuls of the batter into the basket, without overcrowding.
  • Spray the tops of the fritters with oil and cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Remove from the air fryer and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For variations, consider adding chopped nuts or swapping some flour for oats. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days, or in the fridge for up to a week.
