  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 125 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 100 g granulated sugar Can replace with more brown sugar if desired.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 150 g chocolate chips Always use good quality chocolate chips for best results.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this into the wet mixture.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra crunch, add a bit more flour. If you're looking for a chewier texture, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Variations include using peanut butter or dried fruits for a twist.
