Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 2 large large eggs
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt or sea salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 3 cups chocolate chips mix of semisweet and dark
  • Optional for topping: Extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt

Baking Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Use a cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chilling the dough is key for thick, chewy cookies. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
