  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, and mix well.
  • Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mix, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes. The cookies should look slightly underbaked.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle with chocolate sauce. For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking and store in an airtight container for 5-7 days.
