  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Use room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can swap for pepper jack for a zesty twist.
  • 1 cup salsa Use your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (optional) Sprinkle on top for garnish.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine black beans, refried beans, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salsa, garlic powder, and cumin. Mix until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.

Cooking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with green onions if desired.

Serving

  • Serve warm with tortilla chips.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for about 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave prior to serving. Feel free to add spices or mix in corn for added flavor.
