Ingredients
  

For the Dumplings

  • 8 leaves Cabbage leaves Blanched until soft
  • 1 lb Ground meat (chicken, turkey, or pork) Choose your preferred meat
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Pepper Freshly ground is best
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce For flavoring the filling
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil Adds richness to the filling
  • 2 stalks Green onions For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Boil a pot of water and blanch cabbage leaves for about 2 minutes until they soften. Remove and pat dry.
  • In a bowl, combine ground meat, minced garlic, chopped onion, salt, pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil.

Wrapping

  • Take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the meat mixture at the base. Roll it up tightly, tucking in the sides.
  • Continue rolling until all the filling is used.

Cooking

  • Steam the dumplings for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice and garnish with fresh green onions.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. When reheating from frozen, steam or sauté directly from the freezer.
