Ingredients

Cookie Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup for glaze

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together brown sugar and softened butter until smooth.
  • Mix in maple syrup, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto baking sheets.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Glazing

  • For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with maple syrup until smooth.
  • Drizzle over cooled cookies and allow glaze to set before serving.

Notes

Chill the dough for about 30 minutes if you want thicker cookies. Try using brown butter for a nuttier flavor. You can substitute brown sugar in the glaze if needed. Always test your baking soda for freshness!
