  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk Add more to achieve desired consistency.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, cream together the brown sugar and butter until smooth.
  • Beat in the maple syrup and egg until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.

Glazing

  • For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle the glaze over cooled cookies.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. If desired, freeze them wrapped snugly for longer storage. Consider adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips for added texture and flavor.
