  • 10 oz buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese divided
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 packet (2.75 oz) sausage gravy mix

Preparation

  • Press the biscuit dough into a greased 9x13 pan. Don’t worry about making it pretty; it’ll all bake up nicely.
  • Brown the breakfast sausage in a pan, drain the grease, and layer it on top of the biscuit base.
  • Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper, then pour this delicious mixture over the sausage.
  • Add 1 cup of your shredded cheese over everything.
  • Make the sausage gravy according to the packet instructions, let it cool slightly, then pour it over the casserole.
  • Top with the remaining cheese.

Baking

  • Bake at 350°F for about 35 minutes.
  • Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before cutting into it.

Notes

Customize with veggies or a different meat type. For an extra crispy top, bake uncovered for an additional 5-10 minutes.
