Ingredients
  

Casserole Base

  • 10 oz refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into pieces
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage Cooked until browned and drained.
  • 5 eggs Whisked together with milk and oregano.
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese Topped on the casserole.
  • cups prepared country gravy Ladled on top of the casserole before baking.

Flavor Base

  • 2 tbsp butter Used for sautéing the onion.
  • ½ onion, diced Sautéed until browned and fragrant.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onion until it’s browned and fragrant.
  • Add the breakfast sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, draining any excess grease.
  • Scatter the pieces of biscuit dough in the baking dish, then pour in the sausage mixture.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, and oregano; pour this mix over the sausage and biscuits.
  • Top it all off with the shredded cheddar cheese and then ladle on the prepared gravy.

Baking

  • Bake for about 30-35 minutes, until it’s golden brown and set in the middle.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

Best served hot straight from the oven. Can be paired with fresh fruit, crispy bacon, or a side of eggs for a full brunch spread. Store leftovers in an air-tight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
