  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Topping

  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Mixing

  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating a small indentation in the center of each.
  • Spoon a small amount of salted caramel sauce into each indentation.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. For longer storage, freeze them layered between parchment paper for up to a month. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
