Ingredients
  

For the patties

  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bread crumbs Can be substituted with gluten-free bread crumbs.
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

For the sauce

  • 2 cups beef broth Can be replaced with vegetable broth for a vegan option.
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup green beans (optional) Skip if not using.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, bread crumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into patties and place them in a baking dish.
  • In a separate pan, sauté the mushrooms until soft, then pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Pour the broth and mushrooms over the patties in the baking dish.
  • If using, add green beans around the patties.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your hearty meal!

Notes

Customize the spices to your liking, experiment with veggies, and make it gluten-free if needed. This dish can be frozen for up to 2 months.
