Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine chopped butter, water, milk, and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until it boils.
  • Remove from heat and stir in flour until it forms a smooth ball. Beat the dough with an electric mixer for a couple of minutes to cool it down.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla, then slowly add to the dough, mixing well after each addition.
  • Fill a pastry bag fitted with an open star tip (#1M) with the dough.

Cooking

  • Pipe the dough directly into the air fryer basket, cutting into 3-inch lengths.
  • Cook for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While they cook, mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Remove the churros and coat them in the cinnamon-sugar mix immediately.
  • Let them cool on a baking rack for a few minutes.
  • Serve warm with chocolate or caramel sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the air fryer for best texture. Adjust the cinnamon-sugar coating to your taste, and feel free to experiment with dipping sauces!
